VCU HEALTH DONOR TREE

Working with VCU Health's Living Organ Donor transplant team, Lively Harper conceived and executed this backlit relief sculpture and mural with the help of Little Lost Craft honoring organ donors. Each leaf is magnetically attached to the tree; donors will have their name engraved on a leaf and will place it on the tree after their recovery.

The tree itself is constructed from three types of wood layered together, and extends slightly from the wall. LED lights attached on the inside edges of the tree create a glowing halo effect behind the tree.
